Chinese actor Wang Hedi (王鶴棣) spoke with humor about a rumor concerning himself that recently spread online, during the filming of a variety show.
Regarding Wang Hedi, a rumor recently emerged that he underwent a procedure to inject hyaluronic acid into his male genitalia at a hospital in Shanghai, leading to problems such as vascular occlusion. It garnered attention on China's social media platform, Weibo. However, his agency showed a quick response, announcing that they had completed notarization procedures for evidence in preparation for legal action. The entertainment blogger who spread the rumor also issued a statement of apology.
On September 29, Wang Hedi, who appeared for the filming of a Chinese variety show, did not avoid this negative topic and commented jokingly, "I want to let everyone know I'm safe. I've been very well lately, and my buddy is also fine."
Regarding the fact that Wang Hedi himself directly addressed a topic that would normally be difficult to touch upon, voices were raised on the internet such as "Wang Hedi is always dignified," "His mental strength is truly impressive," "He actually increased his popularity with a negative topic," and "He's always straightforward and considerate of his fans."
The hospital named in the rumor concerning Wang Hedi, "Shanghai Jinghe Medical," also released a statement. It denied that Wang Hedi had ever visited the hospital and stated that the hospital does not offer the procedure in question in the first place. (Mathilda)
