"Jinyiwei" is a special agency directly under the emperor, established in China's Ming Dynasty to perform duties such as guarding the capital. "Jinyi Soujin Lu," in which Allen Ren plays a member of Jinyiwei again for the first time in 7 years since the hit work "花様衛士〜ロイヤル・ミッション〜 (Original title: 錦衣之下)" released in 2019, began filming on the 27th.

Allen Ren had previously posted on social media, "I want to play Jinyiwei again," when "花様衛士〜ロイヤル・ミッション〜" aired its final episode. Based on a novel, "Jinyi Soujin Lu" is a story about the son of a criminal official who, to survive, impersonates Chang Feng (Allen Ren), a deceased Jinyiwei spy, and gets caught up in the power struggle between the Crown Prince faction and the Imperial Consort faction. Armed with his skill in "chaojia" (house search and confiscation of property), he successively exposes the mansions of corrupt officials and powerful figures, uncovering evidence of crimes that shake the imperial court. While aiming for promotion in the Jinyiwei, an organization rife with schemes, he holds a false identity that could be exposed at any time, and survives extreme situations while evading pursuers and suspicions from those around him.

In addition to lead actor Allen Ren, "Jinyi Soujin Lu" features a stellar cast including Lin Yun (林允), Yu Nan (余男), Su Xiaotong (蘇暁彤), Wang Hongyi (王弘毅), and Tong Mengshi (佟夢実). Several costume appearances, including Jinyiwei's regular uniform, armor, and cloak, have already been released.
