According to the recently released "China's Sustainable Transport Development Report 2025," in 2025, China's urban railway operating mileage will approach 11,700 kilometers, and the operating mileage of intercity railways exceeded 12,000 kilometers. A modern comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network has been built in the Jing-Jin-Ji (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) region, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (a city cluster consisting of 9 cities: Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and the two special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao), and the Chengdu-Chongqing two-city economic circle, ahead of the rest of the country. This was reported by People's Daily.
High-speed transportation services have become the mainstream for inter-regional travel, and the proportion of people across China who can access "1-hour high-speed transportation services" exceeds 90%. Annual rail passenger traffic reached 4.6 billion person-times, with high-speed rail accounting for approximately 80% of it. The number of air transport users exceeded 500 million, making China the country with the largest number of air transport users in the world. Travel by private car using expressways accounted for more than 70% of inter-regional travelers. (Source: People's Daily Online Japanese edition / Editor: KS)
