On the 23rd, the drama 'Xiao Cheng Liang Fang,' starring Xiao Zhan (肖戦), released its 'Comical Version' trailer, packed with abundant comedic moments. Due to its content that overturns his conventional image, a wave of surprise and anticipation has emerged on the Chinese internet.

This work sets itself apart from the warm narratives often found in reality-based productions, focusing instead on the slice-of-life comical daily routines that unfold in a small rural town.

Xiao Zhan portrays a young doctor who has transferred from a big city to a rural town. As soon as he arrives, comedic situations unfold one after another: he's approached for a marriage arrangement by his meddling neighbors, in the examination room he's at the mercy of patients whose eccentricities are beyond imagination, and he engages in battles of wit with colleagues only to fail in unexpected ways. Online, reactions such as 'I couldn't stop laughing after watching the trailer' and 'I felt like I was seeing the real Xiao Zhan' have been posted.

Xiao Zhan also takes a step away from the image he has cultivated in his previous works, portraying the character's youthful naivety, stubbornness, and humorous side with approachable and natural acting, achieving an image change that captures viewers' attention.

Online, a flood of surprised reactions emerged, such as 'I thought it was a heartwarming human drama, but I can't believe it's such a hilarious work.' While the 'Comical Version' trailer is unexpectedly raising expectations, the official release date has not yet been announced. Nevertheless, voices are already spreading, naming it as one of this year's most anticipated works. (Translated and Edited by/RR)
