The high-performance robot hand market is experiencing explosive growth in China.
The industrialization of humanoid robots in China is accelerating, and the market for high-performance robot hands (robots with dexterous multi-fingered hands = Dexterous Hands), which are core components, is driving this accelerated development. The industry is seeing three major changes: a doubling of sales, a significant price reduction in products, and accelerated adoption of haptic sensors, and what were once high-end optional features are now becoming standard equipment for mass-produced high-performance robot hands.
According to Ge Pengyao, head of a company located in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, sales of high-performance robot hands have surpassed 4,000 units since the beginning of the year, more than double the number from the same period last year. The high-performance robot hands currently being shipped are equipped with flexible haptic sensors that allow them to touch and grasp with their fingers, and can sense the magnitude and direction of an object's force.
This year, as the industrial chain gradually improved and sales continued to increase, the prices of high-performance robot hands significantly decreased. According to the head of a relevant company, two years ago, the average price of a robot hand was 50,000 yuan (approximately 1.18 million yen), but this year it is less than 10,000 yuan (approximately 237,000 yen) on average, with a 6-degree-of-freedom multi-fingered hand costing between 6,000 yuan (approximately 142,000 yen) and 8,000 yuan (approximately 189,000 yen).
According to data, while the sales volume in the Chinese robot hand market was approximately 19,200 units in 2025, this year it is expected to reach 70,200 units. By 2030, with the expansion of application scenarios for humanoid robots, breakthroughs in high-performance robot hand technology, and cost reductions, the sales volume in China's high-performance robot hand market is expected to exceed 430,000 units.
According to preliminary figures, as of July 30 this year, the cumulative fundraising amount for China's high-performance robot hand industry has surpassed 8 billion yuan (approximately 189 billion yen), which is 16 times the 500 million yuan (approximately 11.8 billion yen) from the same period last year.
