Foxconn's China Zhengzhou plant, an assembly base for Apple's 'iPhone' smartphones, is reportedly expanding its workforce to meet the production capacity for the iPhone 18 Pro series and the first foldable model, which are expected to be announced in September.
According to Chinese media IT Home on the 18th, citing a report by The Mac Observer, new employees are being offered a short-term contract bonus of 8,800 yuan (approximately 202,400 yen), and employees who started work after August 14 are receiving an additional 500 yuan (approximately 11,500 yen) on top of the basic bonus.
This recruitment drive covers two major business groups responsible for component testing, final assembly, and quality inspection. Although the 8,800 yuan incentive is slightly lower than in previous years, it is reportedly a strong inducement to secure sufficient personnel for the new iPhone assembly lines.
