A photo showing a child's foot extending from an adjacent seat and touching a tabletop faucet at a Sushiro restaurant in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, caused controversy due to unsanitary conditions. According to Chinese media outlet Zhengzai Xinwen (正在新聞), a customer who used Sushiro (Panyu Tianhe City store) in the same city reported that "a child from the next table had put their foot over the partition and rested it on the faucet (which dispenses hot water) at our table." In the photo taken at the scene, a child's foot can indeed be seen touching the faucet. Sushiro's customer service stated, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern due to this incident. Our company always prioritizes 'safety and security,' and in the event of any situation that threatens hygiene or food safety, we will immediately stop it and perform cleaning and disinfection." Furthermore, the manager of the store in question admitted to media inquiries that the incident was true and explained, "After this incident occurred, we immediately offered the affected customer a change of seats." They also stated, "We will disinfect the table partitions and replace the faucet." Chinese netizens commented, "Is this child crazy?" "What kind of posture is that?" "Judging by the size of the foot, they must be at least elementary school age." "Turn on the hot water!" "What kind of parenting is this?" "The store should sue the parents." "Shouldn't they demand compensation from the child's guardians? Are they saying the guardians didn't notice the child kicking around? Even the store can't stop such troublesome children."
