In the Chinese historical drama "Ci Tang," starring Zhang Linghe (張凌赫), the selection of the heroine has frequently dominated SNS trends, with comments like "it's like choosing a crown princess."

"Ci Tang" is an adaptation of a novel of the same name. It tells the story of Crown Prince Song Ling (Zhang Linghe), who fakes his death after being attacked by unknown assailants to uncover the mastermind, and his childhood friend Su Luowei, who married Song Ling's younger brother who became the new emperor, as they pursue a conspiracy surrounding the imperial succession. Regarding the heroine, the names of multiple actresses have emerged and disappeared, drawing attention due to the dizzying pace.

Heroine candidates mentioned so far include Zhang Jingyi (張婧儀), Wang Yuwen (王玉雯), and Lu Yuxiao (盧昱暁). Regarding Lu Yuxiao, whose name emerged in July, criticism erupted that she and Zhang Linghe, belonging to the same agency, were trying to create buzz through "package deals," following their previous co-starring role in "My Journey to You." This developed into a situation where her official fan club issued a protest statement.

Amidst this, the name of Yang Chaoyue (楊超越) emerged as a new candidate. However, some suspect that this is "Liu Fen" (溜粉) behavior, which involves intentionally leaking unconfirmed casting information to stir up fans and create buzz. On China's SNS Weibo (微博), many sarcastic comments have been made about the situation where successive casting rumors keep appearing without official announcements, such as "Zhang Linghe is really busy. New heroines keep appearing one after another," and "Is this a selection for a crown princess?" (Mathilda)
