According to reports, the accident occurred on the 7th. Footage captured at the scene shows a family of four running along a promenade connecting a small island to the mainland, heading towards the mainland, when they were suddenly hit by a high wave coming from the side. The video also records the cameraman repeatedly shouting, 'Come here quickly!' to the family.
Among the four, two adults (one male, one female) and a girl were knocked down by the wave but managed to stay on the promenade. However, the 9-year-old boy was pushed by the force of the wave and fell into the sea. Although rescue teams conducted a search for the boy, he had not been found as of 3:00 PM on the 8th. Since then, no new information regarding the search has emerged.

According to witnesses, due to an approaching typhoon, no-entry fences had been installed along the coast, but the family climbed over them and entered the area on their own. A security guard who spotted them tried to stop them, but the family reportedly ignored him.
Local rescue officials testified, 'At that time, the road leading to the coast had been blocked off in advance, but tourists found detours, climbed over, and entered the area.' In addition to the family of four involved in the accident, it is said that 10 other tourists were stranded on the small island at the time, but those 10 people were safely rescued.
