According to Taiwan's Liberty Times, the luggage of Taiwan's female table tennis players, which was mistakenly taken at Haneda Airport, was safely returned to its owners.
Cheng I-Ching (Jung I-Ching) and other players, who are participating in the WTT Champions Yokohama starting on the 4th, arrived at Haneda Airport on the evening of the 2nd via All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight NH852. However, another passenger mistakenly took a suitcase containing Cheng I-Ching and her teammates' competition equipment. Cheng I-Ching's coach, Cheng Chia-Chi (Jung Chia-Chi), explained the situation on the social media platform Threads and requested internet users to spread the word so that the person who took it would realize their mistake.
Cheng Chia-Chi updated Threads on the morning of the 3rd, reporting, "Shortly after 10 AM today, the airline successfully contacted the other party. The airline plans to arrange for the luggage to be delivered to the designated location as soon as possible, within the morning." She added, "Thank you very much to everyone who shared the post and offered solutions. I also sincerely appreciate the kind Threads users who wrote comments in Japanese and offered their cooperation."
Furthermore, regarding the question from some users, "Why aren't you disclosing the other person's full name?" she stated, "It's because we considered the protection of personal information. Even if we were in a hurry, we cannot disclose other people's personal information. We believe that the other party was also flustered and simply forgot to check the name, and did not take it intentionally."
Afterward, Cheng Chia-Chi updated Threads again, reporting, "Thank you all very much. We have already received the luggage. Further sharing is no longer necessary. Many thanks!" (Translation/Editing: Kitada)
