A relevant official from the National Development and Reform Commission stated at a press conference on July 31st that since the beginning of this year, new pillar industries have maintained a high growth rate and accelerated the pace of innovation.

In the first half of this year, for industrial enterprises above a designated size, integrated circuit production increased by 23.1% year-on-year, and in the second quarter, monthly production set new historical highs for three consecutive months. Furthermore, the export value of integrated circuits increased by 88.7% year-on-year, and its contribution to the growth of total goods exports reached nearly one-third. In the smart robot sector, currently, 8 out of 10 humanoid robots and quadruped smart robots sold globally are produced in China.

The official stated that to foster emerging pillar industries, in the future, they will further strengthen the driving force by exploring application scenarios.

Jiang Yi, Director of the Policy Research Office and spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission, stated, 'We will promote large-scale demonstration and popularization projects for new technologies, new products, and new application scenarios, and support the establishment of comprehensive large-scale application scenarios, cross-industry integrated application scenarios, and high-value small-scale and specialized application scenarios.
