An account on China's SNS Xiaohongshu (RED) quoted Japanese reports, explaining, 'On that day, approximately 3,000 customers were inside the store (this was actually the number of customers who visited on the 28th, when the earthquake occurred). After the earthquake struck, employees of the commercial facility completed the evacuation of customers in about 30 minutes, and by around 5 PM, employees from all 204 stores had also finished evacuating.'

It also mentioned, 'Around 5:50 PM, an explosion occurred in the south-central area of the commercial facility. The reason why employees remained inside the building even about an hour after the evacuation was completed is not clear,' and introduced information suggesting that some may have re-entered the building to retrieve necessary items for going home, such as car keys.
