As the heatwave continued in Europe and demand for cooling equipment rapidly increased, Chinese air conditioner brands are receiving a continuous stream of new orders from overseas. Many manufacturing companies in China are rushing to expand their production lines, operating all lines at full capacity to ensure overseas deliveries, and accelerating manufacturing.
In Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, southern China, air conditioner exports recorded a significant double-digit growth in the first half of this year (January-June). Currently, many air conditioner manufacturing companies are expanding their production lines and accelerating production.
According to He Chengcheng, Assistant Executive President of Baoshi Refrigeration Appliances in Jiangmen City, orders from Europe increased by 20.3% in May and June, and the company newly introduced two smart air conditioner production lines to enhance production capacity.
Portable air conditioners from Gree Electric (Zhuhai Geli Dianqi), a major home appliance manufacturer in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, which do not require installation work, have completely sold out across all regional sales channels, and orders for wall-mounted air conditioners continue to pour in.
Zeng Fanlong, Gree's head of European market, explained that in countries like France and Spain, the growth rate of orders has reached over 50%.
Since the beginning of this year, the export value of air conditioners that cleared customs at the Gongbei Port of Entry and Exit, located between Zhuhai City's Xiangzhou District and the Macau Special Administrative Region, has exceeded 9 billion yuan (approximately 220 billion yen). Among these, exports of air conditioners that comply with European building standards and are classified as furniture rather than fixed installations because they are installed by being fitted into window frames, have made great strides. Additionally, the export value of in-car air conditioners increased by 84.26% year-on-year, reaching 4,654,700 yuan (approximately 110 million yen). (Provided by/CGTN Japanese)
