A photo exhibition themed on World War II, titled "Breaking the Silence: Women's Accusations Against Japan," was recently held in Berlin, Germany. The exhibition highlights, through videos and testimonies by 18 "comfort women" survivors, the history of sexual violence perpetrated by Japanese militarism during World War II.

Michiko Kajimura, a member of the "Japanese Women's Initiative Berlin" which organized the photo exhibition, has resided in Berlin, Germany since 1975 and has been researching issues related to "comfort women" since the 1990s. She stated, "Considering the frequent armed conflicts around the world where women are still victims of sexual violence, this exhibition holds great contemporary significance," and emphasized, "Japan must take responsibility for such acts.
