U.S. brand valuation agency World Brand Lab recently announced the 2026 edition of its ranking of Chinese corporate brands, 'China's 500 Most Valuable Brands.' IT giant Tencent Holdings (Tencent), telecommunications equipment giant Huawei Technologies (Huawei), home appliance giant Haier Group (Haier), and banking giant Industrial and Commercial Bank of China ranked high.
The total value of brands ranked in the top 500 increased by 3.26 trillion yuan (7.8%, 1 yuan = approximately 24 yen) to 45.29 trillion yuan, but the growth rate further decelerated. Among them, brands with a value exceeding 100 billion yuan numbered 146, an increase of 11 brands from the previous year, reflecting the thriving Chinese brand economy.
Looking at the ranked brands by industry, they spanned 26 industries, including food and beverage, telecommunications/electronics/IT, light industry, finance, machinery, media, and automotive. The most numerous was still the food and beverage industry, accounting for 71 brands, or 14.2% of the total. The 2nd to 5th positions were telecommunications/electronics/IT (54 brands), light industry (41 brands), finance (35 brands), and machinery (33 brands). (Provided by Xinhua News Agency)
