The body discovered in November last year in the sea near Yamashita Park in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, has been identified as that of a Chinese national woman. It has been reported in China and is attracting significant attention.

According to reports, the body found consisted only of the upper torso, with no head or lower body. A passerby discovered it floating face up in the sea near Hikawa Maru and reported it to the police.

As a result of the forensic autopsy, the body was determined to be that of a woman aged 20-50, blood type O, with several months having passed since her death, and the cause of death was unknown. On the 7th, the Kanagawa Prefectural Police and others announced that the victim's identity was 45-year-old Chinese national Yu Xiaofang (于小芳), residing in Ota Ward, Tokyo.

Police are investigating, considering the possibility that the body was dismembered and abandoned by someone.

When Chinese media such as Yangzi Evening News reported this news, "Headless female body in Yokohama, Japan, identified as Chinese national" temporarily became the top trend on social media platform Weibo.
