A post on China's SNS, Xiaohongshu (RED), about getting into an argument with a Japanese person at Tokyo DisneySea drew a strong reaction.

The poster wrote, "I'm really worried about the manners and civility of Japanese people these days," and reported an incident they encountered. According to the poster, while waiting in line for an attraction at DisneySea, a balloon they were holding was blown by the wind and hit the head of the man in the couple in front of them. Then, the woman in the couple, without saying anything, suddenly punched the poster's balloon with her fist.

Regarding what happened at the time, the poster explained, "There was a loud 'BAM' sound, and I thought the other person was a boxer. Anyone who has bought a balloon would know, but they are quite expensive." The poster immediately checked on the spot to see if the balloon was broken. Then, they said that in the next moment, anger welled up, and they protested to the other person, saying, "Isn't that going too far?"

Then, the woman pointed out, "Your balloon has hit us multiple times." When the poster retorted, "Don't you have a mouth? You could have just said something. What are you doing suddenly? This is truly terrible," the couple fell silent. The man with the woman remained unresponsive throughout, "as if he wasn't even there."

The poster wrote with anger, "I never thought I'd get into an argument with a Japanese person in a place called 'the happiest place in the world.' I'm truly dumbfounded and speechless," and posted a photo of the back of the woman, who appeared to be the person involved, among other things.

In response, Chinese netizens left comments such as, "Well said. If your Japanese isn't good, you wouldn't know how to argue back in situations like this," "Are Japanese women really that violent?", "It's fine to have a verbal argument, but if you damage someone else's property, you should compensate them," "The woman was jealous that you had a balloon," and "Her boyfriend probably saw her violent side and will surely break up with her later."
