It has been revealed that Chinese actress Meng Ziyi (孟子義) will return to modern drama after 6 years, with filming reportedly set to begin this summer.

While Meng Ziyi has established an image in period dramas in recent years, starting with her breakout hit 'Jiu Chong Zi' in 2024, as well as 'Sword Snow Stride,' 'Peach Blossom Burns the River and Mountain,' and 'Hui Shui Zhu Ting ~The Fate of the Bamboo Forest~,' her appearance in the modern drama 'Endless Summer at the Seaside' was announced on the 1st. She is currently filming the period drama 'Jiang Men Du Hou' co-starring Wang Hedi (王鶴棣), but is expected to begin filming in mid-August after wrapping up in July.

'Endless Summer at the Seaside' is a modern romance story produced by video streaming service Tencent Video (騰訊視頻). It's a story about a high-achieving boy and girl who had feelings for each other but never got together in high school, and reunite as adults to face love again, depicting a bittersweet first love from their youth and a reunion romance as adults.

The modern drama starring Meng Ziyi is her first since 'I Am Not A Shopaholic,' which was released in 2020 and co-starred Taiwanese actor Sunny Wang (王陽明), and is attracting attention as her return to modern dramas after exactly 6 years.

Regarding the cast, the casting of Ding Yuxi (丁禹兮) is considered highly likely, and if it happens, it will be their second collaboration with Meng Ziyi after 'Hui Shui Zhu Ting,' leading to expressions of anticipation from fans. (Mathilda)
