Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency recently revealed that Indonesia's trade surplus in April decreased to 89.1 million dollars due to a significant increase in imports. Although it maintained a trade surplus for 72 consecutive months, April's surplus significantly shrank from the previous month's 3.32 billion dollars. April's export value increased by 22% year-on-year to 25.3 billion dollars, and the growth rate turned positive from the previous month's negative 3.1%. The import value increased by 22.5% to 25.21 billion dollars, and the growth rate further expanded from the previous month's 1.5%. The import value from January to April was 86.51 billion dollars, a 13.4% increase year-on-year. China remained the largest import partner country, and the import value of non-oil and natural gas products amounted to 30.79 billion dollars.
