Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, known as 'China's No. 1 Hometown of Overseas Chinese,' has been attracting attention for its coffee in recent years. In this place, which cannot be called a coffee bean producing area, a 'coffee kingdom' with an annual output value exceeding 3 billion yuan (approximately 72 billion yen) has been built, and a complete industrial chain, from green bean trading to smart roasting and refined manufacturing, has been formed. Jiangmen's connection with coffee originated from overseas Chinese. After the reform and opening-up, coffee companies from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, which are geographically close and have deep personal ties, focused on Jiangmen. Utilizing the overseas Chinese network that spans the globe, Jiangmen attracts over 300 varieties of high-quality green beans from major producing areas such as Brazil, Ethiopia, and Colombia, and its annual import value exceeds 30 million yuan (approximately 720 million yen). Jiangmen is one of the earliest established coffee roasting hubs in China, with 21 certified roasting companies in the city. Its annual production capacity exceeds 10,000 tons, and its export volume accounts for 20% of the national total.

According to the 'Qiaodu Coffee White Paper' published by the Jiangmen City Bureau of Commerce and others, there are over 350 coffee-related equipment and component manufacturers in the city, approximately 40% of the nation's stainless steel coffee equipment, and one out of every five exported coffee makers are produced in Jiangmen.
