An extreme sandstorm and strong winds hit Harbin.
Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, was hit by strong atmospheric convection and a sandstorm on May 31. According to China Weather Network, a meteorological service portal, winds temporarily reached level 12, comparable to a typhoon, in limited areas of the city.
According to residents, a wall of black sand approximately 100 meters high swept in, and the area was immediately enveloped in darkness. Color panels installed on the roofs of many buildings were blown away by the strong winds, and the paint on the exterior walls of buildings was also blown off. (Provided by CGTN Japanese)
