According to the official WeChat account of "Beijing E-Town," the Beijing Institute of Space Intelligent Computing was recently registered and established in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. People's Daily Online reported.
The Beijing Institute of Space Intelligent Computing will focus on areas such as satellite-borne computing chips, inter-satellite laser communication, space energy and heat dissipation technology, integrated space-ground networks, and space security standards, to advance research and development of critical common technologies. Additionally, it will build a comprehensive service system covering technology development, pilot testing and demonstration, in-orbit testing, and the practical application of results. It plans to complete the development and launch of its first experimental satellite by 2028, and in the future, it aims to form a constellation of multiple experimental satellites, carry out trial operations of an "integrated space-ground intelligent computing network," and provide users with high-efficiency, high-stability, and high-security computing services.
The institute was jointly established by multiple enterprises, with the National Xinchuang Park as the core, including BOE, Galaxy Aerospace, LandSpace, Galactic Energy, Guanyu Xinsuan, Changxin Jidian, and others. It will establish technology R&D platforms, pilot testing and demonstration platforms, in-orbit testing platforms, common technology service platforms, and results commercialization bases in the field of space computing capabilities. Concurrently, with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) as the core, it will establish a "Space Computing Capability Special Committee" and build a "enterprise + alliance" collaborative system to systematically advance the development of the space computing capability technology system and industrial ecosystem.
