The Chinese historical drama 'He Butong Zhoudu,' starring Tan Jianci (檀健次) and Lu Yuxiao (盧昱曉), recently released its first trailer.
'He Butong Zhoudu,' which began filming in January, is a highly anticipated work with its wrap-up reported to be in mid-June. An approximately 2-minute trailer was released in conjunction with the content presentation held by Hunan Satellite TV and Mango TV at the end of May, quickly gaining popularity by exceeding 5 million views in a short period.
'He Butong Zhoudu' is an adaptation of a novel of the same name, set in a turbulent era as a dynasty heads towards collapse. The protagonists are Xie Queshan (Tan Jianci), who bears the stigma of a 'rebellious general,' and the female bandit Nanyi (Lu Yuxiao). The two, probing each other while harboring their own intentions, overcome numerous life-and-death crises together. Xie Queshan finds a glimmer of hope in Nanyi's desperate struggle for survival, while Nanyi also comes to realize the loneliness hidden behind Xie Queshan's cold mask.
At the end of May, it also became news that Tan Jianci was involved in a horse-riding accident during filming. According to reports, the cause was a horse startled by a car horn, which then became uncontrollable. Tan Jianci responded calmly, such as skillfully sliding off the horse at the moment of the fall to soften the impact. After confirming his safety, he immediately resumed filming.
On the other hand, it also became clear that there had been three accidents on the set of 'He Butong Zhoudu' within one month, leading to widespread calls from Tan Jianci's fans for the production team to issue an apology and disclose who was responsible. Tan Jianci reported his safety via the Chinese SNS Weibo and also showed a stance of defending the production team. (Mathilda)
