A Chinese influencer who filmed a dance video in front of a Lawson store with a view of Mt. Fuji and drew criticism from Japanese internet users has declared, "I will never go to Japan again." Taiwan media outlet ETtoday reported on the 27th.

The Chinese dance influencer couple "藤短短 (Tendo Tantan)" recently posted a dance video filmed in front of a Lawson store in Kawaguchiko with a view of Mt. Fuji on the Chinese version of TikTok, "Douyin," adding a joyful comment: "The day has finally come to dance 'Skip and Loafer' here."

"Skip and Loafer" is a popular Japanese anime, and the dance performed by "藤短短 (Tendo Tantan)" was the one danced by two characters in the anime's opening theme song "Mellow."

However, when this video was reposted on Japanese social media, criticisms erupted, such as "It's obstructing the entry and exit of convenience store customers." On the other hand, a small number of voices defended them, saying, "Judging by the length of the shadows, it must have been early morning when there were no people, and they probably love 'Skip and Loafer,' so is it really something to criticize so much?"

Following the video's controversy in Japan, "藤短短 (Tendo Tantan)" explained, "The filming took place around 4 AM, and there were only a few couples of tourists at the location, so we were not obstructing passage." They added that they were not stopped by store staff, and during filming, they were considerate of other tourists, such as waiting for each other to finish their respective shoots.

They then stated, "The beauty of dance has no value in a place where it cannot be understood," and expressed regretfully that they would delete the videos filmed in Japan. On the 27th, they wrote that "they received intense slander and defamation online due to the spread of malicious rumors," and in response to criticism for traveling to Japan during a time when Japan-China relations are deteriorating, they stated, "We have decided never to go to Japan again in the future."
