According to Chinese media outlet Kuai Keji, as criticism mounts against the exterior of "Luce," the first all-electric vehicle (EV) recently unveiled by Italian luxury sports car maker Ferrari, former chairman Luca di Montezemolo also issued harsh words, saying, "Even Chinese people won't imitate it."
The Luce, which means "light" in Italian, is a 4-door, 5-seater, with prices in Italy starting from 550,000 euros (approximately 101.75 million yen). Since its announcement, negative reviews and criticisms regarding its exterior have poured in, such as "ugly" and "too disappointing."
Montezemolo also said, "If I were to speak my mind, it would damage Ferrari," adding, "This risks destroying a legend, which is very regrettable. At the very least, I hope they remove the Prancing Horse emblem from that car. Even Chinese people would not imitate such a car."
The design of the Luce was handled by "Love From," a creative collective founded by former Apple chief design officer Jonathan Ive, known for his work on the iPhone and other products. (Translation/Editing by Yanagawa)
