At this year's "Strait Forum," a platform for civil exchanges between China and Taiwan, Zhang Linghe, whose starring historical drama "My Journey to You" was also a hit in Taiwan, took the stage. In his speech themed "Crossing," he reflected on his journey of majoring in electrical engineering at university and then transitioning to an actor.
He said that during his university days, he was a genuine "science guy." If he had followed the life he initially envisioned, he would currently be working in the power industry, drawing blueprints on a computer every day, and engaging in work dealing with complex data. However, with aspirations and passion for film and art, he leaped into the unknown world, transitioning from an engineer who prioritized logical thinking to an actor who requires delicate emotional expression. He frankly revealed that there were numerous hardships and struggles during that process.
In his speech, he also touched upon cross-Strait relations, stating, "I hope that more people from Taiwan will cross the Strait to visit mainland China, walk around, see for themselves, feel the vitality and dynamism of this land, and gain insights and growth."

Additionally, he revealed that following the hit of "My Journey to You," he has received many offers from Taiwan. He said, "I hope for deeper and broader exchanges and cooperation in the fields of film, music, and culture. I also hope that more opportunities for exchange will arise for young people on both sides of the Strait in the future." (Mathilda)
