According to Chinese media Observer Network, on the 10th, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) announced that regarding Li Yize (Li Yizer), who had participated in the training camp for the U18 Men's Chinese National Team, it would impose a three-year ban from competition for falsely claiming his age to compete in CBA-sponsored tournaments, and also announced that teams and individuals involved in the age fraud would face penalties such as the revocation of tournament records and a three-year ban from activities managed by the CBA.

Regarding Li, it was reported in April that his appearance strongly resembled Zhang Hanbo (Zhang Hanbo), who competed as a player for the Hubei Province team in the 2022 U17 Youth League, raising suspicions that they were the same person, and the CBA had been investigating.

According to the CBA's statement, as a result of investigations by relevant authorities, it was confirmed that Zhang Hanbo (born March 19, 2006) and Li Yize (born March 27, 2008) are the same person. Li Yize's actual date of birth is March 19, 2006, and there was an issue of identity card registration procedures being carried out using false certificates.

The statement said, "From 2021 to 2022, the participating organization registered a player as Zhang Hanbo for CBA-sponsored tournaments, and from 2024 to 2025, the same participating organization registered a player as Li Yize for CBA-sponsored tournaments and other national tournaments. Therefore, when Li Yize represented this participating organization in CBA-sponsored tournaments from 2024 to 2025, he was competing under a false age, and the participating organization, its person in charge, coaches, and assistant coaches must bear responsibility for Li Yize's age fraud."
